Your kitchen sink says a lot about you; just like how every time, your mom had important guest, she would bring out the fine and expensive china. It is a statement that says you take care of your house and everything in your house. So when you have a broken kitchen sink, you know you have to get it fixed before you have guest coming over and most times a broken kitchen sink would mean bad plumbing so it really is a time sensitive problem. Bad kitchen sink sealant and without the best sealant for kitchen sink could lead to all these problems and with time sensitive problem, it is better to leave it to your handyman services but if you are like me and you believe every problem could be fixed with a good elbow grease then you should use silicone sealant for kitchen sinks

How to apply kitchen sink sealant tape is an easier task than most think but as it takes patience and steady hands, it does look hard. For the DIY task, you will need a lot of materials like your adjustable wrench, cobber tubing, screwdriver, taping knife, propane touch, solder, paintbrush, power drill and many more depending on how clean a job you want.

  • STEP 1: Determine your new sink location

You first step is to decide where you want your sink, as soon as you done; you take the sink, turn it upside down and place it on the countertop. Make sure you take the measurement of your sink, always check there is enough clearance for the plumbing and assembly of drain. While still on the countertop, draw the line for your sink with a pencil on the wall and remove your sink.

  • STEP 2: Drill your hole

After properly measuring your sink, always measure again to be sure. Cut the pencil lines with a jigsaw but before then you have to drill a hole big enough for a jigsaw blade to be able to cut. After you have done that, you should follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to mount faucet and drain assemblies of the sink.

  • STEP 3: Apply your sealant

Before you apply your sealant, make sure your sink is in its final position. The faucet assemblies and drain should be placed by the sink then mark points around the sink with your pencil. Remove the sink, turn it upside down then apply your sealant.

  • STEP 4: Finishing touches

After you done, lower the sink back and press it down; make sure it is aligned with the pencil lines. After you have done that, wept the residues of the sealant and within 3 to 6 minutes, the sealant should be completely cured. You can then attach the plumbing to your sink.
